Graphology is in the wider sense the study of all graphic movements
that man is capable of making but for the sake of clearing any
ambiguity, it is the study of handwriting to analyze the characteristics
of a human being. As you
can see the word 'human beings' is used for a simple reason
that it is only the humans who have the ability of using their
hands for the purpose of writing. As far as handwriting is concerned
it is not limited to words or letters only but includes any
sign or drawings etc. by way of which one person can commute
with another person without actually having to speak any words.
Therefore, Graphology primarily involves written words, figures
and sentences as the same is the most frequently used mode of
communication apart from speech.
Just like when a person speaks his manner of speaking illustrates
his mental state, his thinking and to some extend his mannerism,
the same way when a person writes he is sub consciously or
consciously giving a glimpse of his
nature, thinking and behavior. The art of Graphology evolves
around the fact of interpreting the said nature, thinking
and behavior of the person without actually knowing him or
even talking to him.
As in speech it can be made out by the way a person is speaking
whether he is in a good mood or a bad etc. In the same way
also, a person handwriting mirrors his inert feelings without
him actually expressing them.
