Documents >Additions & Alterations |
Alterations -
When an alteration or addition has been made to a document at
sometime after it has been written, there will usually be a
difference in the ink and pen used. If the writer is different,
the writing characteristics of the added writing will also be
different with the differences in size and spacing of letters.
Additions -
If one ink line crosses another, it is very often difficult
to tell which line lies on top of the other. However, an enlarged
photograph will clearly show which line has been made first
and which afterwards.
Erasures -
These are of two types. First is mechanical erasure where the
writing has been erased by means of a rubber or a sharp instrument.
The other is chemical erasure where the ink of the writing is
bleached.
